My name is Michael Byron Fallon ('Byron' is my mother's
family name). I am the seventh of eight children and the
third boy to become a Missionary of the Sacred Heart (MSC)
- a journey which I began at 13, after my primary school
with the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Northbridge, Sydney.

I spent one year of secondary at Marist brothers' High School, Darlinghurst. The rest of my secondary education was completed at Saint Mary's Towers, Douglas Park, and in 1954 eight of us entered the novitiate (seven are still priests 50 years down the track).
Ordination to the priesthood in 1961 was followed by ten happy years teaching boys French, English and Modern History to matriculation standard. From 1972 to 1979 I was chaplain at the University of New South Wales, Kensington. The last 25 years have been spent teaching Scripture in Saint Paul's National Seminary and generally involved in Adult Faith Education. My last appointment was to the parish of Henley Beach, SA and I came to Kippax ACT in 2002. |
